I have had two incidence years apart...why?

Strange disappearing lights that looked like aircraft at first. These lights have been reported in the area before.

Object appeared to be a star at first glance sitting low on the horizon ((NUFORC Note: Possibly Sirius. PD))

Observed a strange sequence of multicolored lights hovering silently in the sky approximately 1000 feet away, just outside Ft. Gordon.
